Our students have also received numerous awards for their presentations at national and international conferences, including:
- Natalie Johnson received the Don Tucker Memorial Award for the best graduate student presentation at the 2023 Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS) annual meeting
- Ghazaleh Behnammanesh and James Heidings received prizes for best posters at the 2022 Molecular Biology of Hearing and Deafness conference
Students are also encouraged to seek training and professional development at prestigious training programs, including:
- Zane Moreland was accepted to attend the 2024 Biology of the Inner Ear course at the Marine Biological Laboratory.
The BMS program and Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics offer several opportunities to compete for additional internal awards based on the quality of research presentations and proposals, as well as the publication of high impact manuscripts.
