2019 Department Retreat

On Friday, August 23, the UF Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics held its fourth annual department retreat in the Roland T. Stern Learning Center at the UF Austin Cary Forest Campus.

Research Seminar: Anilkumar Pillai, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, March 9,  Anilkumar Pillai, Ph.D., of Augusta University’s Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Chronic Stress, Complement System and Neurobehavior.” It will take place at 11 a.m. in the ARB R5-265.

Research Seminar: Shinichi Someya, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, March 11,  Shinichi Someya, Ph.D., of UF’s  Department of Aging and Geriatric Research, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Sex Differences in Inner Ear Aging: Role of Estrogen in GST Detoxification of 4-HNE.” It will take place at 11 a.m. in the ARB R5-265.

Research Seminar: P. Jeffrey Conn, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, April 15,  P. Jeffrey Conn, Ph.D., of Vanderbilt University, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Allosteric Modulators of GPCRs as a Novel Approach for Treatment of Schizophrenia.” It will take place at 11 a.m. in the ARB R5-265.

Special Seminar: Mark S. Moehle, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Mark S. Moehle, Ph.D., postdoctoral fellow of Vanderbilt University, will be presenting a seminar titled, “M4 Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor Regulation of the Basal Ganglia.” It will take place at 4 p.m. in the McKnight Brain Institute (MBI) DeWeese Auditorium.

Special Seminar: David Gate, Ph.D.

On  Monday, Feb. 24,  David Gate, Ph.D., postdoctoral fellow of  Stanford University, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Clonally Expanded CD8 T Cells Patrol the Cerebrospinal Fluid in Alzheimer’s Disease.” It will take place at 4 p.m. in the McKnight Brain Institute (MBI) DeWeese Auditorium.

Research Seminar: Diana L. Williams, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, Feb. 19,  Diana L. Williams, Ph.D., of FSU’s Department of Psychology, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Neural Integration of Satiety and Food Reward.” It will take place at 11 a.m. in the ARB R5-265.

Research Seminar: Laura M. Bohn, Ph.D.

On Wednesday, Jan. 17, Laura M. Bohn, Ph.D., of the Scripps Research Institute, will be presenting a seminar titled, “Optimizing Opioid Receptor Signaling to Improve Pain Therapeutics.” It will take place at 11 a.m. in the Communicore Building (Room C1-7).
