On Tuesday, August 23rd, the UF Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics held its fifth annual department retreat in the Roland T. Stern Learning Center at the UF Austin Cary Forest Campus.
The Chair of the Department delivered the state of the department address to begin the retreat. This was followed by presentations by new faculty members, Dr. Mark Moehle and Dr. Gemma Casadesus, on their research.
Following a break for lunch, a career development session was held. Three mentors presented how they have navigated their careers in pharmacology, Dr. Edgar Rodriguez-Lebron, CEO Lacerta Therapeutics, Dr. Steve Munger, Professor, and Dr. H. Lee Sweeney, Professor. Before Dr. Jonathan Bird gave the closing remarks, the department split up into teams for a game of trivia.
